The Summer School is facilitated by Senka Gavranov and Dr. Robert Stacey and will take place at the National Museum of Contemporary Art – MNAC Bucharest, from 6 to 10 July 2026. Nine students and emerging poets who live and work in Austria, Romania, and Serbia are invited to explore sound, visual, procedural, and experimental translation practices. Participants will engage with the global heritage of avant-garde poetry and contemporary poetic practices through workshops, lectures, and collaborative exercises.

9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Monday, 6 July – Sound
Meet and Greet, followed by an exploration of sound (concrete) poetry.
Tuesday, 7 July – Visual
Discover visual and shape poetry, including kinetic, digital, multimedia, intermedia, and new media practices.
Wednesday, 8 July – Procedural
Experiment with procedural poetry, from aleatory techniques to writing through constraints.
Thursday, 9 July – Appropriated
Explore appropriation, treated texts, appropriated methods, and transdisciplinary approaches.
Friday, 10 July – Translation & Language
Delve into language poetry and experimental translation, engaging with de/re-semantization, disjunctive poetics, and experimental translation.
