Department of Media
In this Department, we explore media and communication – the Internet, printed media, film, radio, and television – in the context of politics, technology, the history of ideas, psychology, and social engagement. The Department strives to stay abreast of technological progress, which shapes the development of media and communication, through academic programmes including media production, managing PR campaigns, online journalism, and digital marketing.
Our B.A. and M.A. programmes conceived by young and experienced lecturers offer our students a theoretical grasp of contemporary communication and media, expert knowledge, practical skills, critical capabilities, as well as self-confidence, for a successful career. By working individually and in teams, we exchange ideas and knowledge in various forms of media, such as comics, film, podcasting, street art, GIF and meme art. Through professional practice and mentoring, our students acquire the necessary skills to work in marketing and PR agencies, traditional media, and new digital media.

Our B.A. programme in communication offers an innovative approach to critical perspectives in the world of media and applied communication, with constant updates to the courses, which enable our students to acquire the knowledge and skills they need.
The stimulating environment of our Media and Communication Department, unlike traditional academic approaches, encourages the pursuit of knowledge in theory and practice. In this four-year B.A. programme, our students acquire interdisciplinary knowledge – from the psychology of communication to planning and managing PR campaigns, from cultural studies to digital marketing, from managing human resources to corporate PR. Upon graduating, students receive a B.A. degree in Communication Studies.
Currently, the journalist profession is changing faster and more than ever before. Our B.A. programme in journalism offers an innovative approach to media studies that relies on linking theories of media with media practices, with constant updates to the courses, providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need.
Unlike traditional academic approaches, our Department of Media and Communication does not separate theory from practice. Over the course of this four-year undergraduate programme, our students acquire interdisciplinary knowledge – from media theory to developing journalist skills in the digital age, from critical studies in politics to the techniques and logic of media reporting, from online journalism to media editing. Upon graduating, students receive a B.A. degree in Journalism.
In recent years, the world’s leading markets have seen investment rates in Internet advertising exceed those of the traditional media. Google is becoming the most trusted medium, after relatives and friends, while the number of Facebook users has created the world’s biggest country. Our B.A. programme in Digital Marketing offers the necessary knowledge and skills for working in every modern business organisation.
In this four-year undergraduate programme, students gain interdisciplinary knowledge – from basic theories in marketing to the development of marketing in the digital age, from social networks to online entrepreneurship, from video and content marketing to Web analytics and the monitoring of success rates in digital businesses.
The lectures follow the digital classroom model, combining an online learning system (Moodle) with closed Facebook groups, using video tutorials in teaching, and inviting renowned figures from fields such as the Internet of Things, website search engine optimisation, accounting for online entrepreneurs as well as popular YouTubers as guests. In addition to a B.A. degree, our students get an opportunity to obtain certificates of Google’s Academy for Ads, Digital Garage and Analytics, which further empowers them on the labour market and enables them to choose between working in an agency, company, freelance, or as entrepreneurs. Upon graduating, students receive a B.A. degree in Communication Studies in the Field of Digital Marketing.
The success and recognisability of every organisation and brand today rest in the hands of experts in public relations. In this programme we study all aspects of communication. Our students acquire theoretical knowledge and skills in the domain of applied communication, a grasp of communication problems in various contexts, and prepare for professional work in the internal and external communications of any organisation or company.

Over the course of this one-year master’s study programme, students gain interdisciplinary knowledge – from communication theory to storytelling, from corporate communications to alternative economies, from creative strategies to the psychology of advertising. Upon graduating, students receive an M.A. degree in Communication Studies.
Experts in the domain of human resources management are an integral part of every modern organisation, corporation, and agency. This programme provides the requisite knowledge and skills for working as a consultant in the private sector, as well as for career in corporate environments.
Over the course of studying in this programme, students gain competencies that will enable them to implement innovative methods and techniques of leadership, coaching, and career counselling.
Upon graduating, students receive an M.A. degree in Human Resources Management.
This master’s study programme is open to all those holding a B.A. degree in social studies or the humanities, as well as to arts schools graduates who wish to further their knowledge and acquire specific skills in the domains of creative industries and creative communications.
